4 Days Marangu Route � Kilimanjaro Summit Trek
The Marangu Route is Kilimanjaro's oldest and most established trail � affectionately known as the "Coca-Cola Route" for its comfortable A-frame hut accommodation and steady, scenic ascent through rainforest, moorland and alpine desert to the roof of Africa.
This 4-day trek is led by Baobab Safari Adventure's certified mountain guides and experienced porter crew, with all park fees, meals on the mountain and hut nights included � so you can focus on the climb of a lifetime toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres.

Full Itinerary
Your 4-Day Marangu Trek
After registration at Marangu Gate, trek through lush montane rainforest where colobus monkeys and exotic birds are often spotted. The trail winds steadily upward to Mandara Hut, your first overnight stop in shared A-frame huts with stunning views of the Kenyan plains on clear days.
Leave the rainforest behind and enter the heather and moorland zone. Cross the Maundi Crater rim for panoramic views before continuing to Horombo Hut � a key acclimatisation camp with excellent views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Rest well; tomorrow's altitude gain is significant.
Trek across the alpine desert � a stark, beautiful landscape of volcanic rock and sparse vegetation. The air thins noticeably as you approach Kibo Hut at the base of the summit cone. An early dinner and a few hours' rest prepare you for the midnight summit push.
Begin the summit attempt around midnight, climbing by headtorch through scree to Gillman's Point and on to Uhuru Peak � the highest point in Africa. Celebrate at sunrise, then descend to Horombo Hut for lunch and continue down to Marangu Gate to receive your summit certificate. Transfer to your hotel in Moshi or Kilimanjaro Airport for departure.
