The Lemosho Route is Kilimanjaro's most scenic trail � approaching from the remote western side through pristine rainforest, across the Shira Plateau and beneath the dramatic southern glaciers to the roof of Africa.
This 4-day trek is led by Baobab Safari Adventure's certified mountain guides and experienced porter crew, with all park fees, meals on the mountain and camping equipment included � so you can focus on the climb of a lifetime toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres.

Full Itinerary
Your 4-Day Lemosho Trek
After registration at Londorossi Gate, drive to the trailhead and trek through pristine western rainforest to Forest Camp. This gentle first day passes through colobus monkey habitat and dense, untouched jungle � a quiet, remote start to the climb.
Leave the forest behind and emerge onto the expansive Shira Plateau � one of the highest plateaus on earth. Enjoy panoramic views of Kibo's glaciers and the Kenyan plains beyond as you reach Shira 1 Camp for an important acclimatisation night.
Cross the plateau to Lava Tower for altitude acclimatisation, then descend into the dramatic Barranco Valley beneath the Barranco Wall. Continue to Barafu Camp at the base of the summit cone. An early dinner and a few hours' rest prepare you for the midnight summit push.
Begin the summit attempt around midnight, climbing by headtorch through scree to Stella Point and on to Uhuru Peak � the highest point in Africa. Celebrate at sunrise, then descend via Barafu and the rainforest to Mweka Gate to receive your summit certificate. Transfer to your hotel in Moshi or Kilimanjaro Airport for departure.
